Internal Communications Adviser As an Internal Communications Adviser you’ll support the team in developing and delivering effective, accurate and timely communications to our people, often taking responsibility for smaller campaigns. You’ll ensure our communications are aligned with the service-wide internal communications and engagement strategies and a one organisation approach. Contract: Permanent Working hours: 35 hours per week. Where possible, we are open to considering part time/flexible working patterns. Salary: Circa £42,400 Reporting to: Head of Internal Communications London docklands Our permanent hybrid policy sees us all working at least four days across a fortnight in the office. You’ll be comfortable creating communications in a range of formats; written, video, in-person and visual. You’ll advise on how to deliver the most effective and engaging communications. You’ll support the team in the creation of opportunities for two-way dialogue across the organisation. You’ll play a key role in ensure the content we share on our digital channels is accurate and up to date. You’ll be the go-to-person for people wanting to share information on our intranet, and you’ll look for opportunities to enhance the content on that channel. Using data and feedback, you’ll measure the impact of our communications and channels, looking for ways to improve and enhance what we do. Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to the Financial Ombudsman Service’s Communications Strategy by supporting the development and implementation of high-profile communications programmes
  • Advise, plan, and execute localised communication initiatives, with clear and engaging messages, supported by the Internal Communications Partners
  • Production of high-quality communications in a range of formats; written, video, in-person and visual, including shaping and editing, with an eye to digital accessibility
  • Use evidence and insight to drive improvements to our internal communications and channels
  • Contribute to the overarching communications activity grid, ensuring all comms are aligned
  • Proactive management of the maintenance and the quality of all internal online content, making sure it is kept up to date, consistent with the brand and presented in the most effective way
  • The set up and delivery of email newsletters sent to our people, including the maintenance of distribution lists
  • Support the set-up, management and evaluation of organisational wide events, including regular Town Halls, end-of-year events and Senior Leadership meetings
  • Promoting and helping to build an inclusive working environment
To be considered for this role, you’ll need to show us that you’ve got the skills and capabilities. You’ll have to meet the following minimum criteria: Minimum Criteria
  • Having worked in an internal communications environment, either in-house or within an agency setting
  • Having supported the design and delivery of targeted communications plans and campaigns, and measuring their success
  • A creative thinker, with strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Familiarity with video and visual communications techniques
  • Being a self-starter – able to work to tight deadlines and manage projects independently to time and budget
  • Establishing rapport, credibility and strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
